• Communications — messages you send us by phone, text, email, or web form.
• Insurance quote details — if you request a quote through our sister agency, Safer Insurance (see Section 04).

• Provide and process smog checks, STAR retests, DMV registration, and related services.
• Submit required results and transactions to the California DMV and Bureau of Automotive Repair (see Section 03).

03DMV & BAR / smog data

As a California STAR Certified smog check station and an authorized DMV Business Partner (OL#86349), we are required by law to transmit certain information to state agencies to complete your transaction:

• Smog check results and vehicle inspection data are reported electronically to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR).
• Registration transactions (renewals, transfers, titles, plates) and related vehicle and owner information are submitted to the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

This information is handled in accordance with applicable state requirements. We are an independent business and are not the DMV or a government agency.

04How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

• Government agencies — the California DMV and BAR, as required to complete your transaction (see Section 03).
• Service providers — payment processors, hosting, IT, and communications vendors who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• Safer Insurance Agency — our sister company (CA LIC. 0E67714), only when you request an insurance quote or agree to be contacted about insurance.
• Legal & safety — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, customers, or the public.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
